Tesla Powerwall 3, home battery

13.5 kWh, charging at up to 5 kW and discharging at up to 11.5 kW, on a tariff that would follow the day-ahead price quarter-hour by quarter-hour.

Round-trip efficiency 89 %, from Tesla's datasheet. Network charges and taxes, which a household pays on every kWh it draws, are left out.

Indicative figures only

They come from simplified models: past prices, an asset as its datasheet describes it, and a battery that knows the next day's prices when it plans a day. Before any fee, tax, grid tariff or wear of the battery. They are neither a forecast, an offer nor investment advice.

A household in France does not trade on the day-ahead market: the home battery is shown as if its tariff followed that price, which overstates what it would save.

How it is computed
  • Prices: the day-ahead auction of the French bidding zone, published by ENTSO-E, hourly until 30 September 2025 and by the quarter-hour since. The figures run to yesterday and are updated every morning.
  • Battery: dispatched exactly on each day knowing the next, from an empty battery on 1 January 2017, the energy left at midnight carried to the next day, and a cycle only when it clears 5 € per MWh discharged.
  • The past only: what the market may do next takes a price model, which an account shows on these same assets.
